I'm amazed that so many people are upset at this video. He was one of the best music/comedians in existence, paving the way for people like P.D.Q. Bach. Most composers I know (and being one myself, I know many) would feel honored to have their music butchered by someone like Borge. He is proof that music doesn't have to be serious to be brilliant.

dude, Borge is combining humour with the art of music. by doing so, he makes it much more appealing to the modern audience so they will have more respect for this kind of music.
this piece is not directed by borge because the orchestre just ignore him. you are not offending Borge but the orchestre itself and the people in it, if you say that this sounds terrible.

the audience was supposed to think that the violinist shot himself because he had been just fired and lost his job (the second violin - that woman - took his place when the conductor invited to replace the missing violinist showing this was no problem for the orchestra). But then we find out the actually the violinist just broke his violin insted of committing suicide. That's how I get it...
